Attention Fashionistas: Would you love to be the envy of your family and friends this spring? Read on and Pamela Thibodeau will give you the inside track on all the key trends. Shhhhh…don’t tell. Pull out your box of crayola’s and pick a color. Sunshine yellow, juicy orange, vibrant green, red, bright fuchsia, violet or cobalt blue, create a pallet that will bring new optimism to the ’08 season. Models walk the runways in bright bouquets of pansies, peonies and roses displaying the season’s trend toward bold prints. For a more subtle take on the trend, simply drape a silky scarf in a mid-sized print over your summer frock. If color is not your passion, opt for wear-everywhere neutrals. Look for earthy tones with brilliant ethnic influences. A touch of animal, a splash of sequins or a girly embellishment will put you right on trend. Dresses remain an important part of the look this spring; with everything from long sweeping gowns with flats for day wear to the very short tunic style dress with the ever-popular leggings. What ever you choose make it colorful make it fun. 70’s Retro returns for spring ’08. Bellbottoms, platforms, off-the-shoulder tops, a caftan or a maxi dress will have you looking like you stepped off the set of “That Seventies Show.” Be bold with your shoes, bags and jewelry. Mixing a yellow purse with an orange pump seems so daring but do not be afraid, it is ok! Beyond color, metallic gold in both matte and gloss finishes are a perfect way to shine. Or look for totes and strappy sandals in beige or perhaps stark white.
